The Texarkana region is gearing up to celebrate Independence Day with various fireworks displays and activities. From Ashdown, Arkansas, to Texarkana, Texas, communities are coming together to commemorate America’s 250th birthday.
Local Events
In Ashdown, a community prayer service will be held at First Assembly Ashdown, followed by a family celebration at Ashdown Junior High School. In Broken Bow, Oklahoma, the Mountain Fork Brewery will host a 250th birthday celebration with fireworks, food, and beer.
In DeKalb, Texas, the Simms VFD will host a 4th of July celebration with fireworks, food, and games. The Bowie County Cowboy Church will also host a free event with hot dog lunch, homemade ice cream, and games for all ages.
In Texarkana, Arkansas, the VFW Post 4562 will host America’s 250th Birthday Bash with live music and fireworks. The Texarkana Museums System will also present a living history to celebrate the last 250 years of local and national history.
In Texarkana, Texas, the Regional History Museum will host a living history event, and the Hardy Memorial Methodist Church will host a fireworks display, classic car show, and live music.
