Kathryn Lacy Mitchell, a 105-year-old retired Dallas ISD educator, is still teaching and showing how programs created especially for older adults help them remain healthy, engaged, and connected to their peers.
Community Recreation Programs
The Dallas Park and Recreation Department says Kathryn is at WellMed Senior Activity Center in Oak Cliff five days a week, the oldest participant there. Her regular attendance highlights the important role community recreation programs play in enhancing seniors’ quality of life.
