Brendan Sorsby, a quarterback whose college career ended due to a gambling problem, will become eligible for the 2027 NFL draft. The NFL informed all 32 teams that Sorsby will not seek legal action against the league after his petition to enter the supplemental draft was denied.
Sorsby’s Decision
Sorsby, who had planned to play at Texas Tech this year, was declared ineligible by the NCAA for making thousands of bets on sporting events worth at least $90,000 during his college career. He accepted 100% responsibility for his actions and stated that he is committed to being the best version of himself while preparing for the 2027 draft.
The NFL has no plans to discipline Sorsby for any currently known prior misconduct but reserves the right to investigate him. Sorsby will not be eligible to sign an NFL contract until the draft’s conclusion.
