Craft & Carvery, a chef-driven sandwich shop, has opened in Wicker Park at 2101 W. North Ave. The shop offers a variety of menu items, including sandwiches, salads, and pizza.
Menu Items
The shop’s menu includes panuozzo-style sandwiches, made with pizza dough as bread, as well as salads and a full espresso menu. The pizza menu features 13-inch thin-crust pies, including a “bianco” with cheese, potato, and truffle oil, and a fennel sausage with red sauce and giardiniera.
The shop is owned by restaurateur Richard Vallejo and chef Yanitzin Sanchez, who also operate Botanero on Ashland Avenue. Vallejo had been planning to open a sandwich shop for over a decade and was finally able to do so after the closure of Time Out Market, where Craft & Carvery was initially located.
Grand Opening
Craft & Carvery held its grand opening on Wednesday and will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The shop seats about 30 people inside and 45 customers on a patio on Hoyne Avenue.
