Iowa State freshman guard Christian Wiggins will miss the 2026-2027 season with a torn Achilles tendon he suffered in practice last Friday, head coach T.J. Otzelberger confirmed on Tuesday.

Wiggins was the No. 1-ranked player in Minnesota as a 4-star recruit according to 247 Sports and was named Mr. Basketball his senior year.
“We talked a lot last year about the preparation with freshmen that we had with Bateman and Killian and some others, and I think that Christian is at the top of that list in terms of ready to play, ready to impact,” Otzelberger said.
