The city has created an online Budget Savings Calculator for residents and business owners to prioritize savings options. The tool will be available through the end of July.
“The magnitude of our budget gap this year makes it critical for our leaders to go the extra mile to gather input from our residents before making these challenging decisions,” City Manager Scott Sanders said. “This exercise will help our residents understand the choices the City is faced with and contribute meaningful feedback to the City Council as they consider these options.”
Des Moines is holding a public budget meeting at Central Library on July 9 to discuss the budget gap and potential solutions. It starts at 6 p.m.
