Sorsby’s decision to drop the lawsuit comes after he was ruled ineligible to play for Texas Tech due to his violation of NCAA rules on gambling. The NCAA had previously penalized Sorsby for placing thousands of bets, including 40 on Indiana football while he was on the team. Sorsby has since sought help for his gambling problem and is now focusing on his preparation for the 2027 NFL Draft.

The NFL had criticized Sorsby for a lack of accountability in its formal denial of his supplemental draft request. However, Sorsby has taken responsibility for his actions and is committed to making a positive change in his life.
