A local restaurant group, Westland Hospitality, is collaborating with the Fort Worth Botanic Garden to reimagine its current café space as Flora House. The new restaurant space will replace the Rock Springs Cafe, which has been in the Rock Springs building since 2019. Chef Juan Rodriguez, a partner at Westland Hospitality, will lead the culinary vision and catering for Flora House.
New Dining Experience
Botanic Garden officials said the new Flora House will give visitors a one-of-a-kind dining experience in one of the city’s most storied natural settings, while the catering options will increase opportunity for the numerous events held at the garden. Westland Hospitality’s portfolio of locally rooted concepts includes Magdalena’s, Westland Bar Co., Pulido’s Kitchen & Cantina, JD’s Hamburgers, Curly’s Frozen Custard, Westland Gardens and Margie’s Italian Gardens.
The 120-acre Botanic Garden, the oldest such space in the state, is managed by the Botanical Research Institute of Texas. The garden is expected to welcome Flora House in the fall, with Juan Rodriguez and his wife Paige overseeing the culinary and event operations.
