Medical City Healthcare announced a $50,000 grant to the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas to support Beyond the Game, an initiative that equips youth sports coaches, parents, and staff with tools to address emotional regulation, anxiety, and behavioral challenges in elementary-aged children.
Supporting Mental Wellness
The goal of Beyond the Game is to provide coaches with the tools, knowledge, and resources to prioritize mental well-being within their teams. Medical City Healthcare’s president, Allen Harrison, stated, “Healthcare extends beyond our hospital walls – it includes supporting the emotional well-being of our community and its youth.”
The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas serves over 50,000 youth and 5,000 volunteer coaches annually, making it the largest youth sports program in North Texas. Since 2023, the organization has been committed to strengthening its programming through the lens of mental wellness.
