Local School Districts See Gains

Palm Beach County, the Treasure Coast, and Okeechobee County school districts are among those seeing improvements in academic assessments. In Palm Beach County, 62% of students scored on or above grade level in English language arts, and 63% in mathematics, exceeding statewide performance in both subject areas.

Martin County schools achieved the highest level of academic performance in district history, with students posting gains across multiple subject areas and exceeding state averages in mathematics, algebra, geometry, biology, civics, and U.S. history.

St. Lucie County schools matched or exceeded state performance in Grade 7 English language arts, Grade 8 mathematics, biology, civics, and U.S. history. The district also saw a 6 percentage point increase in grades 3-10 reading proficiency, ranking fourth in the state for growth.

Indian River County schools outpaced growth or exceeded state performance in every assessed subject, with a 7 percentage point increase in grade 8 science and a 5 percentage point boost in English language arts grades 3-10.

Okeechobee County schools showed growth in overall English language arts, including a 6 percentage point rise in grades 9-10, and a 7 percentage point improvement in grades 6-8 mathematics.
