The number of Iranian cyberattacks against Israel has increased significantly in 2026, according to Yossi Karadi, Director General of Israel’s National Cyber Directorate. In an interview with German newspaper Die Welt, Karadi stated that the number of hostile cyber incidents in June 2026 was approximately 4,800, up from 1,600 in June 2025.
Cyberattacks Target Critical Infrastructure
Karadi noted that the attacks were directed against systems used by Israel’s critical infrastructure, central organizations, small to medium-sized companies, and the public. He cited law practices and accounting firms as among the smaller companies hit. Karadi emphasized that while some groups are very skilled, Israel has managed to fend off attacks on critical infrastructure so far.
