Argentine soccer player Lucas Trejo lost his wife, Yanina Maranella, and their two children, Aaron and Ainhoa, in a building collapse caused by the recent earthquakes in Venezuela.

Trejo, a center back for Venezuelan club Sport Maritimo de La Guaira, was in Caracas with his team when the earthquakes struck. He immediately traveled to the disaster zone to join the search for his family.
Rescue crews recovered the bodies of Trejo’s wife and children from the rubble of their apartment building in Playa Grande, La Guaira.
The tragedy has prompted an outpouring of support from the South American soccer community, with fellow Argentine footballer Edson Tortolero mourning the family’s deaths.
Trejo’s club, Sport Maritimo de La Guaira, confirmed the deaths in a statement, offering condolences to the player and his loved ones.
