Aaron Lewis, the frontman of the band Staind, recently discovered that his upcoming album cover was being used as shredded packaging paper in a Taylor Swift merchandise box. Lewis took to social media to respond to a fan’s unboxing video, which showed the young woman piecing together the shredded paper to reveal the cover of Lewis’ unreleased record “Give Me Back My Country”.
Lewis’ Response
Lewis expressed his surprise and confusion over the incident, stating that he wasn’t aware of the mix-up until his team notified him. He also mentioned that he doesn’t have any social media accounts and therefore didn’t see the video until it was brought to his attention.
Lewis said he trusts the distribution companies to handle his material responsibly and is unsure how this happened. He also stated that he has no ill will towards Taylor Swift and doesn’t want people to think that this was an opportunity to promote his new record.
