A man with multiple felony theft and burglary convictions in Texas and Colorado appeared in Natrona County Circuit Court to face a charge of shoplifting merchandise worth $1,600 from Murdoch’s Ranch and Home Supply in Evansville last October.

Evansville police said the suspect was identified in a similar shoplifting targeting Murdoch’s locations in Riverton, Cheyenne, and Westminster Colorado. He had warrants for similar offenses in Texas and Georgia.
Steven Horn, 37, said in court he had just spent six months in jail in Colorado and had been writing letters to the court hoping to appear by video and start serving time on the felony charge while in Colorado.
Circuit court records show Judge Cynthia Sweet denied the request and ordered that Horn appear in Wyoming. He had an initial appearance before Judge Cynthia Sweet on Friday, June 26.
Horn is presumed innocent unless found or pleading guilty.
