Alexander City, Alabama, residents are being warned of a black bear sighting in the area. The Alexander City Police Department has sent out an alert, cautioning people on what to do if they encounter a bear.

What to Do if You See a Bear

The Alabama Department of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries advises never to approach or attempt to feed a bear. If you see a bear, remain calm, stay away from it, and give it room to leave the area. Notify law enforcement of the sighting.
