The American Melody is back in Louisville’s harbor with a new touch. A new ‘250’ symbol has been added along the ship’s bow, honoring America’s 250th birthday this year.
Summer Cruise Series
American Melody is part of the American Cruise Lines’ summer cruise series along the Ohio River. Over the next six weeks, American Melody will travel between Louisville, Kentucky and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Stops also include Madison, Indiana, Newport, Kentucky, Cincinnati and Marietta, Ohio, and Wheeling, West Virginia.
American Cruise Lines suggested different ways guests can explore the cities, highlighting Louisville’s Churchill Downs and the plethora of bourbon distilleries across the city. Other stops along the river offer museum visits, historical sites, and amazing landscapes.
The four-story ship with “panoramic views” can hold up to 180 guests. The full journey is nine days and eight nights.
