The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) men’s basketball team has signed Mikey Kelvin II, a transfer from Florida International University (FIU), as announced by head coach Joe Golding on Thursday.

Kelvin II previously played for Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, where he helped the team make three consecutive appearances in the USPORTS Final 8, Canada’s equivalent of the NCAA’s March Madness tournament.
At Queens University, Kelvin II averaged 10.1 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, and 1.1 blocks per game, helping the team achieve a 30-6 record and secure runner-up honors nationally in 2023-24.
Head coach Joe Golding expressed his excitement about adding Kelvin II to the team, stating, ‘We are extremely excited to add Mikey to our team for the 2026-27 season. He’s an athletic forward with a strong pedigree that will help us immensely and provide some much-needed depth to our frontcourt.’
