JP Morgan Chase has announced the closure of a call center in Plano, Texas, which will result in the layoff of 244 employees. The company submitted a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice to the Texas Workforce Commission on June 23.
Details of the Closure
The call center, located at 8181 Communications Parkway, Bldg. A, in Plano, will cease operations, with terminations scheduled to start on August 21. Impacted employees will receive a 60-day notice period and will be eligible for the company’s severance pay plan. The company is also working to redeploy affected employees to other available positions within the company.
According to a statement from the company, the closure is part of a regular review of business needs and staffing adjustments. The company has more than 12,500 employees in Plano and has over 800 open positions available.
The call center primarily handled fraud-related issues, according to the Texas Workforce Commission.
