What to Expect
From 10pm Friday to 10am Sunday, the ramp will be fully closed. Additionally, all southbound lanes of I-205 between the I-5 and I-205 split and exit 36 for NE 134th Street will be closed. However, all lanes and ramps on southbound I-205 just south of exit 36 will remain open, including the onramp from NE 134th Street to southbound I-205.
The speed limit on southbound Interstate 5 through the work zone will be reduced from 70 mph to 55 mph. Crews have been removing damaged concrete panels and resurfacing the highway with new layers of asphalt. The project also includes guardrail repairs, new signage, and stormwater treatment upgrades.
A temporary queue warning system will be used to help reduce delays and improve safety. Electronic signs will provide advanced warning of slow or stopped traffic ahead, helping drivers adjust their speed before reaching the work zone.
