A chain-reaction crash involving at least seven cars on Northwest Loop 410 has prompted concerns from drivers about the lack of proper lighting along the highway.
Crash Details
The crash occurred near the Military Drive exit on June 14, with at least one person taken to a hospital with minor injuries. An eyewitness captured dashcam video of the crash, which showed two vehicles colliding and several other cars slamming into one of the vehicles flipped over on its side.
The eyewitness, who did not want to be identified, said it was so dark that he almost hit one of the vehicles as he approached it. He believes improvements should be made for drivers’ safety, saying, ‘They definitely need to do some upgrades.’
TxDOT Response
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) stated that safety is their top priority and new illumination has been installed in the area as part of a construction project. However, some highway light fixtures appeared to be inoperable when KSAT visited the area after dark.
