Milan, Italy, recently hosted the Milan Men’s Fashion Week, where designers showcased their Spring-Summer 2027 collections. The runway was filled with dainty details, including pins, corsages, feather boas, and arm garters, indicating that men will be more decorated than usual next summer.
Designers’ Inspiration
Irish designer Simone Rocha set the mood with her first-ever menswear show at Pitti Uomo in Florence, featuring hand-embroidered glass bugle-bead cornflowers, tea-stained feather boas, and large silk-organza corsages. Rocha said she was inspired by the historic venue and its vintage costume trunks.
Meanwhile, Dunhill’s creative director Simon Holloway looked to the signature style of the late artist Lucian Freud, incorporating dedicated cigar pockets and mismatched velvet slippers with playing card emblems into the brand’s suiting.
Accessories and Details
Other designers, such as Paul Smith, featured sea-glass pins and sailing boat, seashell, and penny pewter charms, while Dolce & Gabbana models wore clusters of jeweled cameos and crystals cinched at the waist. Prada made a case for vanity pouches swinging from belts, and Giorgio Armani models sported the letters G and A pinned to their blazers.
According to British stylist and menswear editor Helen Seamons, styling flourishes like a corsage, lapel pin, or a piece of treasured jewelry can turn an off-the-peg suit or jacket into something special.
