Pflugerville Independent School District (PfISD) has seen improvements in its STAAR scores across 11 subjects, according to data released by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). The TEA released statewide and district-specific scores for the high school STAAR end-of-course exams for algebra, English, biology, and U.S. History on June 10, and third through eighth grade STAAR tests for math, reading, and social studies on June 16.
STAAR Score Gains
PfISD’s ‘approaches grade level’ scores in 2026 were below the state in every subject with the exception of third grade math, third, fourth, fifth, and eighth grade reading, eighth grade social studies, biology, English II, and U.S. History. However, the district’s highest gain year over year was in social studies and Algebra I by seven percentage points. PfISD also saw gains in English I by five percentage points, and both eighth grade math and reading by four percentage points.
Individual STAAR score reports are available to families through their school district’s portal, or at www.texasassessment.gov using the unique access code provided by their student’s school. The TEA uses a four-tiered grading system to score STAAR test performance and determine if students need academic intervention in order to succeed in the next grade.
