Warmer Weather, Stronger Winds Expected in Ventura County

Happy Tuesday! Winds, waves, and warmer weather are expected in Ventura County this afternoon. The morning will start with overcast skies around many beaches, but a quick clearing pattern will lead to mostly sunny skies. Highs will rise 3-5 degrees from previous days, with temperatures in the 70s and 80s for beaches and valleys, and 90s for the far interior.

Beach Hazard Statement

A Beach Hazard Statement has been issued for Ventura County beaches, warning of larger than normal waves and dangerous rip currents. Residents and visitors are advised to use caution when visiting the beach. Sundowner winds will impact the Gaviota corridor into the overnight.

More fog is expected on Wednesday as the temperature inversion increases. Fog will clear around 9 or 10 am, and mostly sunny skies will prevail once again. This is a peak heating day for many areas, and some Heat Advisories may need to be issued inland as temperatures could near triple digits. It is essential to hydrate and stay safe.

Some patchy fog is expected on Thursday and Friday morning. High pressure is still in control of the forecast, and temperatures may fluctuate a few degrees. There will be minimal day-to-day differences into the weekend.
