Two Kayakers Missing On Strawberry River

Authorities in Izard and Sharp counties are searching for two people reported missing after they went kayaking on the Strawberry River. Danny Moran, 72, and Megan Moran, 40, put in at Horseshoe Bend on Thursday, June 25, with a planned destination of Evening Shade.

They were reported missing at about 12:30 a.m. Friday, June 26. Danny Moran was described as a 72-year-old white man wearing a white T-shirt, yellow life vest and khaki cargo shorts. Megan Moran was described as a 40-year-old white woman wearing a purple tank top, brown skirt and blue life vest.

Authorities said one of the kayaks is gray, while the other is orange and white. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Izard County Sheriff’s Office at 870-368-4203 or the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office at 870-994-2211.
