Trump Helps UFC Fighter Derrick Lewis

Derrick Lewis, a UFC fighter, will be fighting at the White House after President Donald Trump intervened on his behalf. Lewis, who holds the UFC record for most knockouts with 16, was initially not included in the UFC’s Freedom 250 card set for the South Lawn of the White House.

Trump’s Intervention

However, after President Trump asked UFC CEO Dana White why Lewis wasn’t fighting at the White House, White quickly scheduled a bout for Lewis. Lewis said he was grateful for the opportunity and doesn’t want to let Trump down by losing to his opponent, Josh Hokit.

Lewis, also known as ‘The Black Beast,’ has a troubled past, having grown up in a single-parent household and serving time in prison for aggravated assault. However, he has turned his life around and become a successful UFC fighter, known for his exciting fighting style and post-fight celebrations.

Lewis has yet to meet Trump in person but has spoken to him over the phone. He said Trump sounded like the ‘South Park’ character during their conversation.
