SPCA Cincinnati Opens New Adoption Center

SPCA Cincinnati is partnering with 3CDC to expand its adoption services by opening a new center in Over-the-Rhine, providing better access to animals in need in the heart of the city. The new facility on Main Street will offer a convenient location for people living, working, and visiting downtown Cincinnati.

The animal welfare and rescue nonprofit currently serves more than 35,000 animals throughout the area. The new space, leased from 3CDC, will house six dogs and eight cats at all times, with daily care provided, including feeding, cleaning, and veterinary services.

With its proximity to condos, shops, parks, and high foot traffic, SPCA hopes the new location will increase exposure and adoption opportunities. “In our location Sharonville is not a place that people are walking or discovering because there’s restaurants and bars and parks right around us. So we want to meet another audience. We want to have exposure to a different type of person. And what’s happening in our urban core is something that’s exciting,” said Chris Seelbach, CEO of SPCA Cincinnati.

The new adoption center is set to open in mid-September. SPCA is seeking full-time workers and volunteers to assist at the Over-the-Rhine location. Interested individuals can sign up at spca.org.
