A new stone monument has been installed at Billy the Kid’s grave site in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, replacing the aging wooden marker that had stood for decades. With Billy the Kid being a legendary outlaw synonymous with the Wild West, the grave site is one of the most popular tourist destinations in New Mexico.
Preserving Western History
Josh Slatten said, ‘It is about Fort Sumner, the people who have protected this history, and the responsibility we have to preserve authentic Western history before it disappears.’
