El-Sayed stated, “My vision is one where every American can afford their basic dignities and a good life,” highlighting his focus on accessible healthcare and responsible government spending. He firmly rejected the notion that his appearances with Piker imply endorsement of all the commentator’s views, including Piker’s past remark that “America deserved 9/11.”

During the interview, host Will Cain pressed El-Sayed on his association with Piker, citing other controversial comments made by the commentator. El-Sayed accused Cain of engaging in a “gotcha game” and criticized the media for such tactics, saying, “This is why people hate the media.”

Focus on Policy

El-Sayed also addressed other issues, such as high gas prices and the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran, which he believes should not have been fought. He expressed concern over the impact of these issues on everyday Americans, sharing his personal experience of high gas prices on Memorial Day.

Cain challenged El-Sayed to provide clearer answers on his policy positions, to which El-Sayed responded by urging future questions to focus on his plans for Michigan residents. The Michigan Senate primary election, where El-Sayed will compete against Democratic Reps. Mallory McMorrow and Haley Stevens, is scheduled for August 4, 2026.
