A kitten who was trapped in a pipe in Rocky Hill on Saturday has been rescued, thanks to some firefighters and animal control.
Firefighters were called to Overlook Terrace around 8:30 a.m. for a report of an animal trapped in a pipe. The animal was later determined to be a small kitten.
Emergency crews said the kitten was approximately four feet down in a three-inch PVC pipe.
Once firefighters tried to access the kitten, it was determined that the animal was too deep into the pipe.
Rocky Hill Animal Control was also at the scene and was able to remove the kitten using an Animal Grasper, firefighters said. An Animal Grasper is described as a very long set of tongs.
The kitten is now in the custody of Rocky Hill Animal Control.
