Kenton County Man Arrested After Alleged Break-In at Local BBQ Spot

A Kenton County man, Chad Snider, has been apprehended in Dearborn County following allegations of breaking into Pig Candy BBQ, a local barbecue restaurant. The incident unfolded earlier this week when Snider was caught on the restaurant’s surveillance cameras.

Incident Details

According to reports, Snider, 44, was seen sneaking into the east side barbecue establishment. The restaurant’s cook, Hayley Beusterien, confronted him after noticing suspicious behavior. “I see over to my right he’s in our tool shed, he’s over there smoking a cigarette just going through it,” Beusterien recounted.

Snider reportedly donned a white collared shirt and vest, attempting to disguise himself as someone with official business. However, his actions, including lighting a cigarette near the restaurant’s meat smoker, raised red flags for Beusterien. “The cig gave it away,” she said, noting that no legitimate official would smoke inside the restaurant.

Aftermath and Arrest

After the confrontation, Beusterien locked the door and called for help. Despite her efforts, Snider managed to slip away, allegedly taking power tools and kitchen supplies valued at a few hundred dollars.

Indiana State Police later located Snider in Dearborn County, where he was found in possession of a hypodermic syringe or needle. The restaurant co-owner, Christina Goehrig, expressed relief at Snider’s arrest, stating, “Maybe he had some other outfits that helped him get across borders.”

Pig Candy BBQ is moving forward, focusing on their upcoming Memorial Day menu. “It’s on a Monday, so of course it’s ribs,” Goehrig said, emphasizing their commitment to serving the community despite the recent drama.

As of now, it remains unclear when Snider will be extradited to Hamilton County to face charges related to the break-in.
