Jordanian authorities have denied issuing an evacuation order for the airport and seaport in Aqaba, despite a warning from the US embassy citing a credible threat.
The government’s spokesperson, Mohammad Al-Momani, stated that no potential threats have been recorded by Jordanian authorities and that the airport and port are operating normally.
The US embassy had advised Americans to refrain from traveling to either location and to follow all security directives issued by Jordanian authorities.
This comes after the US military reported that two of its personnel were killed in Jordan and another was missing after an Iranian attack.
Over the last week, Jordan has repeatedly said that it has intercepted Iranian missiles flying over its territory.
