Johnston County Water Main Rupture

A water main rupture in Johnston County has led to voluntary water conservation efforts. The rupture occurred Monday night while crews were working at the Neuse River Bridge reconstruction site on US Highway 301 in Smithfield.

Affected Water Districts

Johnston County Public Utilities has asked residents in the Ingrams, Meadow, and Southeast Lowgrounds water districts to limit non-essential water usage for 24 hours. This notice is temporary, according to county officials.
