Johnny Manziel Wins MMA Debut Against Social Media Influencer

Johnny Manziel, known for his time as a Heisman Trophy winner at Texas A&M and a first-round NFL draft pick by the Cleveland Browns, has now added a mixed martial arts victory to his list of achievements. Manziel participated in the co-main event for Brand Risk Promotions, facing off against sports media influencer Bob Menery.

The match, which took place on a night filled with unique pairings, saw both Manziel and Menery stepping into the ring with limited MMA experience. Manziel initiated the bout with an aggressive running knee attempt, followed by a series of kicks targeting Menery’s back and abdomen. Despite a missed knockout attempt with a right hand, Manziel quickly regained control.

Menery attempted to counter but failed to land a significant punch. Manziel capitalized on the opportunity, taking Menery down and delivering hammer punches while positioned on Menery’s upper chest. The referee intervened, stopping the fight with 44 seconds remaining in the first round, as the announcers provided a lighthearted commentary on the spectacle.

Following the match, Menery shared a photo of his injured forehead on social media, humorously acknowledging his defeat and the weight difference between the two fighters. Manziel responded with mutual respect, acknowledging the spirited effort from both participants.

The event also featured another notable match where Supa Hot Fire knocked out Ray J, adding to the evening’s entertainment.
