Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein has been hospitalized for ‘heart and breathing issues,’ his representative confirmed to multiple outlets. He was ‘recuperating and resting at Bellevue Hospital’ in New York as of July 1, his representative, Juda Engelmayer, told the Los Angeles Times.
Recent Health Issues
Weinstein has faced several health issues in recent years. In 2024, it was reported that Weinstein had chronic myeloid leukemia, a rare type of bone marrow cancer. He had also undergone heart surgery and was hospitalized with pneumonia that year.
His most recent hospitalization comes days after developments in two of his rape cases. On June 25, New York prosecutors dropped a rape charge against Harvey Weinstein instead of trying it a fourth time. The 74-year-old has been convicted of other sex crimes in two states and is still behind bars while he appeals those verdicts.
And on Friday, a California appeals court upheld Harvey Weinstein’s 2022 rape and sexual assault conviction. However, the court ordered his trial judge to resentence him. The decision came from a three-judge panel last week.
