Fox News Digital closed April as the clear leader in multiplatform minutes, views and unique visitors, outpacing rivals like The New York Times, CNN and the legacy broadcast brands while covering major events from the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner shooting to NASA’s return-to-the-moon mission. The report highlights the scale of audience engagement, with anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum cited during Fox Corporation’s upfront presentation as the brand showcased its reach and performance across web, mobile and social channels.
April’s data put Fox News Digital on top with 3.6 billion multiplatform minutes, a total that exceeded The New York Times by more than two billion minutes. That performance continued a long run of dominance, marking the 62nd straight month that Fox News led this competitive set which includes CBS News, NBC News, ABC News, CNN and the Washington Post.
In multiplatform views, Fox News Digital recorded 1.7 billion, ahead of The New York Times at 1.5 billion and CNN at 604 million, extending a 24-month streak at No. 1 for that metric. The platform also posted a 46 percent increase year over year in total digital multiplatform unique visitors, finishing April with 191 million unique visitors across its digital footprint.
Mobile traction remained strong for Fox News, with the Fox News Mobile app drawing 6.3 million unique users in the month, double the audience of the CNN mobile app which registered 3.7 million unique users. On YouTube, Fox News generated 471.9 million video views for the month, a figure that dwarfed the view counts for ABC News, NBC News and CBS News according to Emplifi.
Across the wider YouTube ecosystem, Fox News’ video views grew 45 percent year over year and contributed to what was described as the brand’s best year ever with 4.5 billion video views. That momentum on YouTube was highlighted during the company’s upfront as proof of audience expansion beyond traditional TV into online video audiences.
Social engagement added another layer to the story, with Fox News reporting 112.3 million social media interactions for the month. The breakdown included 50.2 million interactions on Facebook, 19.7 million on Instagram and 6.5 million on X, extending a run of leadership in social interactions that the company says has lasted 140 consecutive months based on Emplifi and Comscore Social measurements.
Executives and anchors leaned into those numbers during the Fox Corporation advertiser presentation. Bret Baier framed the strategy this way: “We’re meeting audiences where they are, across platforms, across generations, wherever and however they consume news.” He also noted: “Online, Fox News is [the] No. 1 publisher for time spent, averaging 143 million monthly unique visitors.”
Martha MacCallum reiterated the significance of the digital gains, pointing out that YouTube performance capped a record year for the company. The presentation emphasized how multiplatform growth — web minutes, mobile reach, video views and social interactions — works together to make the brand attractive to advertisers and media buyers.
Not all publishers use the same counting methods, and the report notes that Fox News Digital, CBSNews.com, NBCNews.com, WashingtonPost.com and ABCNews.com have opted in to include Social Incremental in their Total Digital Multiplatform Unique Visitors. Brands like CNN.com and NYTimes.com have chosen a different approach, leaving those comparisons subject to differences in methodology.
Data for the report came from Comscore, with platform-specific tallies cited from Emplifi for social and video metrics. The competitive landscape remains active: coverage in April ranged from high-profile security incidents, including the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner shooting and the rapid Secret Service response that evacuated President Donald Trump, to global tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and the continuing war with Iran, plus marquee science moments like NASA’s Artemis II return-to-the-moon mission.
