Florida Small Businesses

Senator Ashley Moody is calling on Florida small business owners to enter the upcoming Small Business Administration (SBA) Patriot Pitch Competition, an initiative designed to elevate companies that drive economic growth and job creation.

Competition Details

The competition features a total prize pool of $1 million. According to officials, the program aims to promote small businesses that solve modern problems, support local jobs, and serve as the backbone of the American economy.

“Florida is quickly becoming renowned as an entrepreneur’s paradise, and for great reason – we’ve seen nearly 700,000 new businesses formed just last year alone,” Senator Moody said. “It’s no secret why businesses are flocking to the Sunshine State; our friendly business environment and Main Street entrepreneur-style governance are attracting job creators from across the country. I would love to see Floridians take advantage of this opportunity, because this money can make a real difference for those looking to make dreams a reality.”

To qualify for the SBA Patriot Pitch Competition, applicants must meet specific criteria. Eligible businesses must have at least three years of operating history and generate a minimum of $100,000 in annual revenue.

Additionally, companies must have previously utilized one or more SBA capital products. The rules state that applicants must have 100% ownership by U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents, and the business must currently be in good standing on all federal obligations.

Finally, the SBA requires that entering businesses demonstrate innovation within their sector. Applicants must show how they use new technologies or unique strategies to modernize their operations and strengthen their overall competitive edge.
