The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating an incident where a 2-year-old girl was bitten by a dog in far west Bexar County. The event occurred just before 2 p.m. on Friday at a residence located in the 2300 block of Rosillos Peak, near Loop 1604 and Marbach Road.

During a news conference on Friday, Sheriff Javier Salazar reported that the young girl was bitten on the head by a dog, resulting in bleeding. Fortunately, her injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, and she was transported to a local hospital for further medical attention.
In response to the incident, deputies detained two dogs in a patrol vehicle while awaiting the arrival of Bexar County Animal Control crews. The owners of the dogs have been issued citations for allowing the dogs to roam freely and for failing to provide rabies vaccinations.

The sheriff’s office has indicated that if any further dog attacks are reported, more severe legal actions, including arrestable charges, could be considered.
