The storyline for Verbolten: Forbidden Turn takes guests on an adventure through Germany’s legendary Black Forest. Under new management, Black Forest Motor Tours invites adventurers to explore this enchanting landscape. However, what begins as a charming drive quickly turns mysterious as signs appear unexpectedly, shadows move ominously, and whispers echo through the forest, hinting at ancient forces lurking within. The park cautions guests to stay on the path, as one wrong turn could awaken these forgotten powers, blurring the line between story and reality.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg has a history of creating immersive environments, but faced criticism in the late 2010s and early 2020s for lacking theming in some attractions, such as the 2022 Pantheon coaster. However, recent years have seen a renewed focus on enhancing the park’s thematic elements. In 2024, the Loch Ness Monster received new theming and effects, followed by the 2025 addition of Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge, which included a faux German village, paying homage to the original Big Bad Wolf coaster.
