The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help locating a vehicle tied to a shooting that left an uninvolved person injured Saturday evening. The incident happened near 1565 Airway Road SW, just northwest of Bridge Boulevard and Sunset Road.
Deputies responding at about 6:50 p.m. found a victim with a gunshot wound to the head and rushed that person to a hospital for treatment.
Investigators who spoke with witnesses say two vehicles were exchanging gunfire in the area, and the injured person was struck during that exchange.
One of the vehicles has been identified as a Mitsubishi Outlander bearing New Mexico license plate SHT803. Anyone who sees this vehicle or has information about the shooting is asked to contact the sheriff’s office.
