Local Business Booms During World Cup
Trinity Bar & Restaurant owner Shane Carty said the World Cup has been great for business, with many fans gathering to watch the matches. The Rolettis were among around 30 people who showed up to watch the Argentina-Austria match.
Carty said that when summer comes, the city is usually empty because many students leave, but the World Cup has brought in a lot of business. He also shared his thoughts on the tournament, predicting that the U.S. will not make it to the quarterfinals.
Other fans, including Gaby Rodriguez and Roberto Di Donato from Texas, also watched the match at Trinity. Rodriguez, a Cuban theater master’s student, and Di Donato, a drama student, both enjoyed the game and were confident about Argentina’s chances.
