City leaders in Ames are discussing plans for a new data center site at the airport. During a recent city council meeting, leaders said a company, LightEdge, asked to begin negotiations about the project.
The proposal sparked discussion amongst leaders about FAA approvals, leases, and major utility and service costs. City leaders also discussed other possible locations for the site.
An information presentation about the project will be shown during the next city council meeting, followed by a meeting focused on public input.
