Looking for ways to serve your neighbors and strengthen the Tampa Bay community? The Catalyst’s Impact Connector highlights five local organizations that need volunteers, donations, or simply your awareness.
St. Pete Run Fest
The three‑day St. Pete Run Fest, featuring a half‑marathon, relay, 5K, 10K, kids races and a doggie dash, returns Nov. 13‑15. Proceeds support the St. Pete Free Clinic, the American Cancer Society‑Gold Together, and St. Pete Youth Farm. With more than 12,000 runners expected, volunteers are essential. Roles include packet pick‑up, course marshals, water stations, information tents, youth triathlon support, finish‑line assistance, awards ceremony help, and cleanup. Groups of ten or more can receive a donation of $250 or more. Volunteers must be at least 16, wear the provided T‑shirt, closed‑toe shoes, and follow the no‑smoking, no‑alcohol policy. Registration details are available online.
Kart 4 Kids Charity Golf Event
Kart 4 Kids, Inc., an all‑volunteer group raising funds for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, hosts its third annual charity golf night on Thursday, Nov. 12, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Topgolf St. Petersburg (220 Carillon Parkway N.). Teams of four can compete in a Top Contender tournament, enjoy an all‑you‑can‑eat dinner, and a premium open bar. Spectator tickets provide front‑row leaderboard views, dinner, drinks, and a chance to meet IndyCar champion Sébastien Bourdais.
SoUL Fundraiser
Stewards of Our Urban Lakes (SoUL) presents its annual “Legacy of Lakes” fundraiser on Thursday, Nov. 12, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art (150 Central Avenue). The event supports lake restoration, scientific monitoring, and community stewardship. Attendees will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, a silent auction, a live paddle raise, and a raffle. Tickets cost $100 for individuals and $250 for couples, including drinks and raffle entries.
The Arc Tampa Bay Foundation Festival of Trees
The Arc Tampa Bay Foundation seeks volunteers for its Festival of Trees, a three‑day holiday celebration at the Long Center in Clearwater (with ancillary sites in Safety Harbor and Tarpon Springs). Volunteers will help set up décor, greet guests, sell tickets, assist performers, and manage hospitality areas. Volunteer shifts run from Nov. 13 through Nov. 23, culminating in a Premiere Night, Santa’s Village, and an All‑Star Party.
Dinner and Duds Toy Drive
Dinner and Duds for the Homeless sponsors its 11th Annual Holiday Toy Drive, collecting gifts for homeless and disadvantaged children ages six months to 17 years. Donations can be purchased through Walmart, Target, or Amazon registries, or sourced locally and dropped off at the rear of the Unitarian Universalist Church (100 Mirror Lake Dr.). Drop‑off windows are Nov. 28, Dec. 5, and Dec. 12, 2–3 p.m. Gifts will be distributed on Dec. 19, 2–4:30 p.m.
By participating in any of these five initiatives, St. Petersburg residents can make a tangible difference, embodying the community spirit that strengthens families, faith, and liberty.
