The JW Marriott Nashville is adding a touch of holiday spirit to downtown with the debut of its Whiskey Wonderland Gingerbread Bar. Open daily from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. (10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays) through Jan. 10, the pop‑up combines a gingerbread distillery display with a full‑size whiskey bar, the only one of its kind in the city.
Hand‑crafted gingerbread masterpiece
Hotel pastry chef Daniel Mangione and his team spent months baking and assembling the elaborate set. The display features 1,450 gingerbread tiles constructed from 480 pounds of flour, 260 pounds of sugar, 380 eggs, 240 gallons of honey, 85 pounds of ginger powder, and additional ingredients. The result is a towering, life‑sized gingerbread structure that serves as both a visual centerpiece and a nod to Nashville’s thriving craft‑spirits scene.
What visitors can expect
Guests are invited to wander the gingerbread corridors, snap photos, and sample a curated selection of the hotel’s whiskey offerings. The bar showcases a range of Tennessee whiskeys, from classic bourbons to small‑batch rye, all served in a festive setting that highlights the region’s heritage of hospitality and craftsmanship.
Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends when the bar stays open later. The JW Marriott’s website provides a simple booking link and additional details about hours, parking, and any health‑safety guidelines that may be in place.
Community and family focus
Whiskey Wonderland is positioned as a family‑friendly holiday attraction. While the bar features adult‑oriented whiskey tastings, the gingerbread display and seasonal décor create an environment where parents can enjoy a drink while children marvel at the edible architecture. The hotel hopes the event will draw both locals and visitors, adding to Nashville’s vibrant holiday calendar.
“We wanted to create a unique experience that celebrates the season, our city’s love of good food and drink, and the craftsmanship of our culinary team,” Mangione said. He added that the pop‑up is a tribute to the city’s tradition of hospitality and a way to bring the community together during the busiest time of year.
