The Dallas Farmers Market will be open for a special Veterans Day weekend. Hours are 9 a.m.‑5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.‑5 p.m. Sunday at 920 S. Children’s activities and live music are also scheduled.
Grapevine Parade and Fair
Grapevine’s Veterans Day Parade starts at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Main and West Hudgins streets, proceeds north on Main Street and finishes at East Wall Street. Free parking is provided throughout Historic Main Street. After the parade, a Veterans Fair will be held behind the Town Square Gazebo, 115 E. Worth St., featuring more than 15 organizations offering information on veteran services and benefits, military vehicles, food and music by Guitars for Heroes.
Fort Worth and Arlington Parades
The Tarrant County Veterans Day Parade begins at 11 a.m. in downtown Fort Worth. This year’s theme honors the nation and 250 years of veterans’ service. The route circles the Tarrant County Courthouse and passes Belknap, Commerce, Fifth and Houston streets.
In Arlington, the Texas Veterans Day Parade starts at 5:30 p.m. in the Entertainment District. The free event includes military units, veteran groups and community organizations. Spectators are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots. A drone show will follow the parade over Mark Holtz Lake, with an approximate start time of 7 p.m. Road closures are expected beginning around 2 p.m.
State Veterans’ Homes and Museum Access
Two Texas state veterans’ homes will hold public ceremonies at 11 a.m.: the Tuskegee Airmen Texas State Veterans Home at 2200 Joe B. Rushing Road in Fort Worth, and the Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home at 1300 Seven Oaks Road in Bonham. No RSVP is required.
The National Medal of Honor Museum will offer free general admission to everyone from 10 a.m.‑5 p.m. at 1861 AT&T Way. While the free admission does not include add‑on experiences, a complimentary luncheon for veterans and active‑duty service members will be held from 11 a.m.‑1 p.m. with prior registration.
Plan Ahead
All organizers advise checking for updates before heading to any event, as schedules and road closures may change. These activities provide ample opportunity for families, friends and community members to show gratitude to those who have served our country.
