Milwaukee residents can expect a brisk start to the weekend as a cold air mass moves in from the northwest. Chief Meteorologist Rob Haswell of FOX6 outlines a clear pattern of sunshine early Friday, followed by clouds and a rapid temperature plunge after sunset.
Friday
Morning skies will be sunny, keeping temperatures comfortable in the high 40s. By the afternoon, clouds will begin to drift back in, signaling the approach of colder air. After dark, clearing skies and light winds will allow temperatures to tumble into the 20s, creating a widespread freeze. A frost is likely to develop across the city and surrounding counties Friday night.
Saturday
Saturday morning will remain chilly, with frost and freeze conditions persisting into the early hours. As the day progresses, mostly sunny skies will return, and highs are expected to reach near 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Light northwest winds of 5‑10 mph will keep the air feeling fresh but manageable.
Sunday through Wednesday
Sunday brings a sunny outlook with a low of 36°F and a high of 58°F. Monday will be mostly sunny, with temperatures climbing to the low 60s (high 62°F, low 38°F). A dry cold front is forecast to arrive early in the week, nudging temperatures down a few degrees but still keeping the overall trend mild.
Tuesday continues the sunny pattern, with a low of 40°F and a high of 60°F. Wednesday will be partly sunny, with a low of 36°F and a high of 56°F. Throughout the week, winds will remain moderate, ranging from 5‑15 mph from the northwest or southwest, depending on the day.
