Porter, Texas – After a series of moves and a recent rebranding, Uncle Tony’s Burgers is back in Porter, bringing a menu of gourmet burgers, tacos, wings and Texas‑style cheesesteaks to the community. Owner Tony Marron, who grew up watching his mother season every meal, says the restaurant’s focus on high‑quality ingredients and careful seasoning sets it apart.
From Automotive Work to Culinary Dream
Marron originally planned to attend culinary school after high school, but entered the automotive industry instead. When the housing market collapsed in 2008, he saw an opportunity to pursue his original passion for cooking. “Everything was closing down, and I decided, ‘You know what? People still love to eat,’” he recalled.
He opened Uncle Tony’s Café in Porter in November 2010. The business changed locations several times before reopening in Porter in April 2025 under the new name Uncle Tony’s Burgers.
Signature Burgers and Award‑Winning Rattlesnake
All burgers start with bulk Angus beef that Marron grinds, seasons, and mixes in‑house. He seasons the patty twice – once inside the meat and again just before it finishes cooking – to ensure flavor on both sides. The flagship Ultimate Rattlesnake Burger has earned awards at multiple competitions. It features Angus beef, a custom‑made sausage from Chappell Hill Sausage, red onions, fresh jalapeños, melted Muenster cheese, and a jalapeño‑cheddar sourdough bun toasted with butter.
Other popular items include “trash can tacos,” which combine grilled chicken, onions, mushrooms, pineapple and fresh jalapeños, and a Texas‑style cheesesteak that has become a guest favorite.
New Mobile App Improves Ordering Experience
Uncle Tony’s Burgers recently launched a mobile app that lets customers place orders online at prices lower than those offered by third‑party delivery services. The app also provides a dedicated pickup window, allowing diners to retrieve their meals directly from the car, reducing wait times and keeping costs down.
Looking Ahead
Looking to the future, Marron hopes to secure another location in Porter within the next few years, expanding the restaurant’s reach while maintaining the same commitment to flavor and family‑friendly service. “For me, the most rewarding thing is seeing the faces of customers who appreciate my food,” he said. “People appreciate good food, and I can say, ‘Okay, I made that.’”
Uncle Tony’s Burgers is open daily for dine‑in, takeout and curb‑side pickup. Residents can download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or place orders by calling the restaurant directly.
