MAGNOLIA SPRINGS, Alabama – On Oct. 25, the Magnolia Springs Garden Club welcomed residents and visitors to its third annual Meet ‘Em in the Arboretum Fall Fundraiser at the Springs Arboretum & Gardens. The evening combined a relaxed stroll among the gardens with food, live music, wine, and a newly introduced silent auction.
New silent auction adds excitement
This year’s fundraiser debuted a silent auction, drawing interest from attendees eager to bid on a variety of items. Auction offerings included vacation trips, original Dr. Seuss artwork, pieces created by local artists, curated gift baskets and a selection of gift certificates. Proceeds from the auction will support the Garden Club’s ongoing stewardship projects.
Garden Club’s role in preserving the arboretum
The Magnolia Springs Garden Club serves as the steward of the Springs Arboretum & Gardens, partnering closely with the town to maintain the grounds, develop educational programs, and implement garden improvements. Recent projects highlighted at the event included the Plant Identification Program, the completed Memorial Board, a newly installed walkway and garden, fresh planting beds, and a butterfly fence designed to attract pollinators.
Community support fuels future growth
Club leaders thanked the many sponsors, donors, volunteers and attendees whose generosity made the fundraiser possible. The event’s success underscores the community’s commitment to preserving the natural beauty of Magnolia Springs while fostering a space for learning, conservation and connection.
“Our mission is to protect the beauty of The Springs and to create a place where families can learn about nature and enjoy the outdoors together,” said a Garden Club spokesperson. “Events like this fundraiser not only raise essential funds but also bring our neighbors together in celebration of our shared heritage.”
Looking ahead
Funds raised will be directed toward upcoming enhancements, including additional planting beds, expanded educational signage, and continued maintenance of the arboretum’s pathways and habitats. The Garden Club also plans to expand its outreach programs, offering more workshops and volunteer opportunities for residents of all ages.
Community members are encouraged to stay involved by attending future Garden Club meetings, volunteering for garden projects, or contributing to upcoming events.
