Minot, ND – Presence Therapy Services announced a move to a larger facility at 2000 East Burdick Expressway, directly across from the state fairgrounds. The expansion is a clear step toward meeting the growing demand for pediatric occupational therapy in the community.
Local families gain easier access to specialized care
Board‑certified pediatric occupational therapist Connie Buck, one of only six such specialists in North Dakota, founded the private practice in 2024. Buck explained that the new space will allow the practice to serve more families while maintaining its movement‑based, child‑centered approach.
“The one biggest thing that I’ve really noticed; the impact for the community is that it’s something that’s very needed,” Buck said. “Seeing the differences it makes for these families is really rewarding for me.”
Therapy that supports sensory processing and emotional regulation
Presence Therapy focuses on sensory processing challenges that can affect a child’s ability to manage emotions, self‑regulate, and succeed academically. Buck described how the practice teaches techniques and uses primitive reflex integration to help children gain better control over their nervous systems.
“They’re able to learn some techniques, they’re able to do primitive reflex integration that helps them to be able to manage their emotions and to be able to regulate themselves,” she explained.
Adult rehab and innovative Equiscope therapy added
In addition to pediatric services, the clinic offers outpatient adult rehabilitation and a technology called Equiscope therapy. This non‑invasive modality supports the body’s natural healing and regulation systems, making it useful for sports injuries, pain management, and post‑surgical recovery.
“Being able to calm our nervous system, to work through the vagus nerve, to reset our nervous system so that we’re able to manage that sensory input, even as adults,” Buck said.
Plans for growth and community outreach
The larger space gives Presence Therapy the capacity to hire an additional therapist, further expanding its mission to help families across Minot and the surrounding region. Buck also provides free online tips for parents who cannot secure an appointment, offering practical strategies that can be tried at home.
Local residents and parents are encouraged to visit the new location or explore the practice’s online resources for guidance on managing sensory processing challenges.
