Burn Co. Is Gone. Camp House Coffee Fills the Gap Nicely

Camp House Coffee on Cherry Street has been around long enough that most regulars stopped thinking of it as a discovery and started thinking of it as Tuesday. That’s the mark of a place doing something right.

The shop sits at 1502 E. 15th Street, which puts it square in the Cherry Street corridor — walkable from the boutiques, close to a handful of the neighborhood’s better lunch spots. Parking is the usual Cherry Street puzzle, meaning street spots go fast on weekend mornings and you may end up a block or two away. Plan for it.

Inside, the space is compact but not cramped. There’s a long bar facing the windows, a few small tables, and a general atmosphere of people actually working or reading rather than performing the act of working or reading. The aesthetic is clean without being sterile — wood surfaces, good light, no aggressively branded merchandise crowding every corner.

On the coffee side, Camp House pulls from a rotating set of single-origin beans and does it seriously. The espresso is consistently well-extracted — you’ll get a shot here that doesn’t taste burnt or hollow, which shouldn’t be a high bar but sometimes is. The pour-over program is worth your time if you have fifteen minutes to spare; they’ll walk you through the current offering without making you feel interrogated. Drip is always available for those who came for caffeine, not a conversation.

Prices are reasonable for specialty coffee: expect to pay $4–6 for most drinks, slightly more for a pour-over. They take cards and cash. Nothing about the ordering process is complicated.

Food is limited but useful. Pastries come in from local bakeries — the selection rotates and isn’t always consistent, but there’s usually something worth grabbing with your coffee. Don’t arrive expecting a full breakfast menu; this is not that kind of place.

Weekday mornings are your best bet for actually getting a seat and settling in. Saturday mornings between 9 and 11 tend to fill up, and the line can stretch to the door. If you’re headed there on a weekend, arrive early or wait until after noon when the initial rush clears out. They’re open seven days a week, generally from around 7 a.m., though hours can shift slightly, so worth a quick check on their social pages before an early visit.

What keeps Camp House worth mentioning is consistency. Tulsa’s coffee scene has grown considerably over the past decade, and there are more interesting options than there used to be. But Camp House doesn’t overpromise. The coffee is good, the space works, the staff knows what they’re doing. For a neighborhood coffee shop on a street where a lot of businesses lean hard into branding and concept, Camp House stays focused on the actual product. That’s not nothing.

If you’re new to Cherry Street and mapping out a morning, start here before you do anything else on the block.
