Cincinnati Faces Intermittent Rain on Sunday, Clearing by Memorial Day

Cincinnati and surrounding areas, including Pendleton, Bracken, Mason, and Robertson counties, are bracing for intermittent rain showers today. The leading edge of the rain is moving north at approximately 30 miles per hour, with steady rain expected to hit downtown Cincinnati around 10:30 or 11:00 AM. This timing coincides with the opening of local events, such as the Taste of Cincinnati.

Weather Impact and Timing

The rain is expected to be more frequent southeast of Interstate 71, while areas to the north and west may experience less frequent showers. Rainfall totals are anticipated to range from a quarter to a third of an inch, which is less than the heavier rainfall experienced on Friday. Temperatures will rise into the 70s during the afternoon.

As the day progresses, a brief break in the rain is expected before additional showers roll in during the mid to late afternoon. The Cincinnati Reds game, scheduled to start at 1:40 PM, may see some impact from the weather, although there is a window of opportunity for dry conditions to allow the game to proceed.

Looking Ahead to Memorial Day

Following the rain tonight, Cincinnati is likely to experience a foggy start to Memorial Day. However, the day is expected to be generally drier, with only spotty showers possible, particularly in northern Kentucky. This drier weather will provide a welcome respite for residents planning outdoor activities on the holiday.

Looking further into the week, while there are daily chances of rain, Wednesday is currently predicted to be the wettest day following today’s showers.
